Problem Description:

In this exercise we analyze natural convection in a simple electronics enclosure consisting of a PCB and a single component.  The computational domain is extended to include the air around the enclosure.

 


Enclosure:                   Dimension:        10cm x 10cm x 5cm

                                    Thickness:        2 mm

                                    Material:           Aluminum

 

PCB:                            Dimensions:      8 cm x 8 cm x 2 mm

                                    Material:           FR4

                                    Material:           Silicon
