BCs - Convection - Define BC

Convection may be applied automatically to all surfaces within a specified solid region using convection region. Please refer to the main Boundary Conditions page for an explanation of the standard components of the boundary condition forms.

Convections can either be associated to surfaces (Associated to Geometry) or to a 2-D planar region (Specified Region).
Convection coefficient can be entered as a constant or can be picked from a library of convection correlations or a correlation can be user defined.
The ambient temperature can be constant or can be calculated as a part of the solution if variable button is selected. Note: You can not assign a functional variation to the ambient temperature in this boundary condition.
