BCs - Velocity:

Velocity boundary condition is used to assign a fluid velocity to a section of the model( e.g. Inlets, Exits). Please refer to the main Boundary Conditions page for an explanation of the standard components of the boundary condition forms.

Plane: Velocity cannot be associated to geometry. You have to specify a 2-D planar region for the velocity to project from.
Enter the vector multiplier on the velocity. If X Vector is 1 then the velocity entered as constant or as a function will be multiplied by 1 in X direction and by 0,0 in Y and Z directions. Add the variable function to make it active. If more than one function is active they will be multiplied to arrive at the final velocity. The temperature for the velocity stream is assigned through the temperature BC menu.
The magnitude of the velocity can be constant or variable
